Me, just another “day at the office” (I wish) with Oskar Sala’s Mixtur-Trautonium. Always been impressed with Sala’s work and what an inspiration he’s been to me over the years, especially his work on Hitchcock’s The Birds (1963). Ok, I don’t own one (yet) but the original instrument behind me at the Musikinstrumenten-Museum was created by Friedrich Trautwein, ca. 1929, and then further developed by Oskar Sala. Sometimes, in my sleep, I’ve been told that I cry out “Dial me in Uncle Oskar”, to which I basically deny, but I digress.

I’ve set up my own miniature Doepfer Trautonium in the studio but it has little of the character of this majestic beast. It offers ribbon control but of course can never match the original Trautonium. Check out videos of Sala performing on this online, after you check out some videos of me! <links go here; Serge please put some in!>

Cheers.
